The Ancaster’s Case of Child Abuse

The individual in question, Dustin Phillip Rouse, who is 31 years old, was recently found guilty by a disciplinary panel belonging to the Ontario College of Teachers. Following this, the penalty was imposed last week.

The discipline committee panel released a written decision that stated that no member of the profession should ever engage in this type of behavior with a pupil. It is particularly egregious since the member was a teacher, a person who is entrusted with the safety of children. Children are some of the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected against predators who use the internet to lure them into situations where they can be sexually exploited and harmed. It is worth noting that Rouse pleaded guilty to the felony charges of luring a child via computer for sexual exploitation and facilitating the commission of an offense back in 2011. He was sentenced to a 12-month conditional sentence, which included six months of house arrest and three years of probation, on July 11, 2011. The offense occurred between November 2007 and May 2009 at an unnamed school in the Grand Erie District School Board.
