Effective February 12, 2023, the Securities and Exchange Commission has appointed Cicely LaMothe as Deputy Director, Disclosure Operations, for the Division of Corporation Finance. Since August 2022, Ms LaMothe has served as the interim Deputy Director for Disclosure Operations.

Since joining the Commission in 2002, Ms LaMothe has held multiple positions of senior leadership in the Division of Corporation Finance, including Program Director of the Disclosure Review Program, Associate Director of the Office of Assessment and Continuous Improvement, and Associate Director of Disclosure Operations.
Ms LaMothe received the Chairman’s Award for Excellence in 2020 for her contributions to the SEC Diversity Council in support of the Commission’s diversity and inclusion initiatives. Ms LaMothe worked in the private sector for six years prior to joining the SEC. She held positions as the manager of financial reporting for a public business and as a senior associate for a major accounting firm. Ms LaMothe is a Certified Public Accountant who holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Hampton University
